Who We Are
Josh Scott is the founder of JHS Pedals, a Kansas City-based company known for its innovative guitar effects pedals. Alice Larson Scott is a writer, director, teacher, and actor based in Kansas City. Together, Joshua and Alice founded Art House 808, a community center for the arts in Grandview, Missouri, where they nurture creativity and support local artists.
We love to create and we love community. After years of wondering what it would be like to open an arts space in our home town, we decided to do it.
Our vision for the future is to create a space that not only nurtures individual creativity but also contributes to the broader revitalization of Grandview. We believe that art has the power to transform communities in a positive and sustainable way.

COURTNEY HARTMAN
Courtney Hartman is a Colorado-born guitarist, singer, writer and producer best known for
her work beneath the surface, writing and recording with artists throughout the folk community.
With the release of her newest album, Glade, Courtney takes us with her into a world of her own
making, with songs about home and abiding; pulling out the marrow of what makes us good and
what makes us kin. Acoustic Guitar Magazine recognizes Courtney as a “distinctive guitar stylist… and a songwriter that delights and disturbs” while PopMatters calls her music “a delicate light glistening softly in the darkness.”
Her debut album, Ready Reckoner, was written amidst a 500-mile walking pilgrimage and features
collaborations with Bill Frisell, Anais Mitchell, Shazhad Ismaily and Sam Amidon. In 2014 Courtney received a GRAMMY nomination for her work with folk quintet Della Mae and in 2017 she was nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year by the Americana Music Association.

NICK LOUX
The songs you’ll hear are stories from Nick’s life—tales of people and places that shape who we are. “I want listeners to feel as if they’re right there where I wrote them: in quiet, familiar rooms that look just like the ones in your own home. Spaces surrounded by the simple, ordinary things of life. Some are true, while others feel true enough. I’ll see you when I get home.”
Creativity. Collaboration. Community.
